Finally blogging again...

Nice to finally catch up on the blogging. Our internet is super slow and annoying so we've been out of touch for a few weeks. We had a nice weekend and a good backyard game of baseball. Check out the Allstars! Christopher has been glued to ESPN (and Aaron too). Tonight since there wasn't any baseball on ESPN we had to go to the Minor League channel and watch the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Clay would be proud, Christopher is turning into a little Cardinals fan, but that's second to the Yankees (of course!).
Lindsay, I loved the picture you posted of us. Somehow the photographer who used my camera just wasn't as good. I did get a good picture of you & Clay (see attached) and some good pics of the group that I'll be sure to mail out. I saw Jen Hraban's engagement announcement in the paper this weekend so I'm sure you'll be headed this direction in a few weeks. If you need a place to stay you're always welcome to stay here.

Colorado and bird shooting

Well, Linds and I made a quick trip to Colorado for a few days and just got back and are safe and sound. It made a good summer and school break. Linds will probably fill everyone in with picts in a day or so.....so I'll leave it up to her. I was pretty excited to be in snow after leaving muggy Manhattan Friday morning.

Jennifer and or Clint......Pheasant in NE begins Oct. 28th and KS is Nov. 4th. Might be interested to know that Turkey season will be in full swing here in KS too. We have plenty of birds and plenty of places to go. Keep me updated on this and we'll make plans. We look forward to you coming home and think of you everyday!

Hope everyone are doing well....

Bird season

Pheasent season opens the latter part of October, don't know the exact date yet but we will find out.

Yee Haw

I got a cash offer on my big house today. It is suppose to close on July 7th. Hopefully this will happen because the payment is due on July 1st but not late till July 16th! We are so excited that it is a cash offer because it means we do not have to have an appraisal on it. We over priced it so we could negotiate the price down to the point where we truly wanted it, and the buyers didn't go down as far as we thought they would. So more shoes for me!

Hope everyone is doing well. The real estate market is absolutely crazy here since the guys are starting to trickle in so I am crazy busy with work. The girls are enjoying summer and our redneck blow up blue pool in the back yard. Lauren is crawling everywhere and getting into everything still. She is pulling herself up on things and has spilled many drinks in the process.

Clint is doing well. He is currently preparing stuff for the new people to come in and take over. Rumor is that they will be back between September 15-25. He will work for the first two weeks turning stuff back in and then we will go on vacation in Florida. He has mentioned coming to Nebraska for the opening of Pheasant Season. Anyone know when that is? As of right now the plan is for him to drive to Nebraska with the girls and I am going to stay here for some much needed peace. I say I can have him gone for almost two years and then let him go away with the only two things I know for a week and me stay here. We will see how I feel when the time comes! Some things are easier said then done!

So sorry..

Ed and Paula - I understand your feelings about Sam. It is a very difficult decision to make, but have faith in knowing that you made the right one. His age is a reflection of how much he was loved and how well he was cared for in your family. I know that his memories will comfort you in the days to come.

I had a cute picture of Sara and me at the wedding a few weeks ago. Who said you can't get along with your in-laws?!? :)

Dyson

The Dyson vacuum cleaner has been around for at least two years. It has this austrailian man who talks very monotone throughout the commercial saying that he has worked on this vacuum for 20 years or something like that. What I liked about it, is that it got up cat hair. I ran my vacuum (0ld one) over my carpet for maybe 5 minutes, I then turned around and ran my new vacuum over the same spot and it pulled up so much crap. It was unbelievable. The dyson is a bagless system and I ran it over one room and it completly filled up my canister with dirt. My rooms are vacuumed once a week and the new vacuum ran over it once and it was completly filled up. Just amazing! Worth every penny. If you have pets go for the new one the animal DC14, it is really expensive but worth every penny! If there is a linens and things in the area they have them and they have the 20% off coupon, which I used to cut some of the cost. The ratings on the dyson are at the top. Most of the raters have had a Kirby which is suppose to be the elite of vacuum cleaners and people prefered the dyson over the Kirby.

Once again, it is so sad that I get so excited about a vacuum!

Good website

Because I know how health-conscience the Mead family is, I figured this was a good reference for all of you that like to do internet research. The link is MedlinePlus.gov It is free and ran by the National Library of Medicine. All information is peer-reviewed before being placed on the site and it also has current research being done on various medical topics. This is much better than doing random searches and coming up with incorrect information.

Happy Day!

Today's big news is that I was awarded a nice big scholarship for next year! I interviewed for it last week and got the letter today - It could be enough to have a semester without loans...what a wonderful dream that would be. I have never had one of those, even in undergrad. So, to celebrate Clay and I went out to eat....probably not what the scholarship committee expected me to do with the money :) Oh well, it was only $10 to Planet Sub. Clay thinks we should get cable now. Again - probably not the intent of the award. But now that I have time to watch TV, I am finding out quickly how there is nothing to watch on our 4 channels.
Jennifer, I watched "Flip This House" last weekend at my parents and thought of you. Seems like a TON of work - hope you make lots of $$$. The house looks really cute.
I hope everyone has a nice weekend - we will probably see most of you at some time. Elliot's wedding reception is at Holiday Inn along with the reunion dinner.

This is a picture of what I have been doing for the last few weeks. I bought this house with intentions of flipping it.........but I changed my mind, we are moving into to it.....Just Kidding...Clint would kill me after all of his hard work he has put into the house we live in. I told him the same story, and he knew I was kidding from the start because he knows I am to busy to move right now. The girls and I have spent many nights working on this house to get it back on the market and tomorrow is the glorious day it will happen. What is funniest about this whole thing is I have spent lots of time cleaning this house and I have a house keeper who comes and cleans mine..lol We are hoping to have it sold soon....the first payment comes due July 1!

Lauren is doing well. She crawls faster than ever and she gets into everything. Jordyn is doing great also. She has informed me many times that it is just to hot to go outside and play. We got a fence installed last week so I have spent the weekends picking up the rocks that they found when digging the holes for the posts. So this weekend we are planning on putting out more mulch in the flower beds.

So on another note, the big event this past weekend was I bought a dyson vaccum cleaner. Man that is worth every last penny you pay for it. I LOVE IT! Sad when your excitement in life is a vaccum cleaner.

Hope everyone is doing okay! Clint is doing well. Talked to him today and all he could say is man it is hot! Speaking of Clint, we are selling Nalgene Water bottles with his unit crest on it for $12.00 for all of you guys who drink lots of water. I can send an example if anyone is interested. All proceeds from the sale go to the welcome home event for our guys return!
