Ranch trip

Marlene and I went up North today, went to see if the well would work ( had to use the generator the power company has'nt put the meter in yet ). We filled one tank and part of the second one, the pasture renter will move cattle in about mid May. After I stopped the gen. we walked by the old house to go back to repairing fence and heard a strange noise. We moved a bunch of junk and found old water supply to the house. It had froze and broke sometime in the past. One more thing to fix next time up. We saw lots of ducks and some wildflowers starting to show up. The place has big thickets of wild current and plums in bloom now. Was kind of cool and windy but very unwinding to get away.

Hello from Tennessee

Things here in Tennessee are busy as usual. We closed on one of the houses that I bought to flip and life has been fast pace since that day! Clint left on Wednesday and that was hard on all of us. He called on Friday to let me know he made it back to his FOB and all is well. He is not real happy though. Jordyn has handled him going back really well. She did not cry, so I had to hide my tears from her so she wouldn't start.

Only 4 1/2 months left! Hope it goes by fast.

So Lindsay was the marathon easy? I can't even run to the mailbox without getting out of breath.

brotherly love and fleas

Thought I would share this touching moment - probably something only brothers would understand... :)

PS - Clint, I asked about your flea problem and the World expert on fleas told me to tell you to stock up on Deep Woods Off because that would be the only way to protect you guys from the bites since you can't control the critters in the area. Good Luck!

I DID IT!

I did it!! I ran my first 5K today and it was AWESOME! I have found a new hobby and look forward to getting Clay involved as well :) Hattie, Clay, and I walked the 1.5K "Fun Walk" after my race - we had a blast.

Well we had an uneventful return trip home. All the planes were on time which was great. Easter was a blast. I am a little tired from slaving away in the kitchen but Jordyn had a great time finding the easter eggs and then rehiding them in the same places, only to find them again. We had friends over for dinner last night and tonight we have a meeting on post followed by a memorial ceremony on post tomorrow night. Thursday through next Wednesday should be uneventful though. Clint does need some rest time after all...lol

Thanks everyone for a good trip to Nebraska. Special thanks to Marlene and Steve for "babysitting" the girls while we were there. It was a nice little vacation for me at least. Marlene might need another week to unwind after the brood left.

Hope everyone had a good Easter!

Clint

As of right now Clint is still in Iraq. Not sure what happened but I got an email from him about 3am saying that he was at a different FOB waiting to catch a plane to Kuwait. So Saturday is a definate no go on him coming home. We will pray for Sunday.

KS Weather

The weather isn't as bad here as TN I don't think. Yesterday after work I was rearranging the garage like a mad man to get my truck inside before the hail hit. Golfball'ish size hail hit for awhile and a few twisters around. Nothing but a typical KS day. 90 degrees yesterday and 32 at night. See ya'll soon........

Weather

The weather here in Clarksville is really sucking at this point. Tornados have killed ten people and counting they say. Luckily Clarksville is not getting a direct hit, but where my grandparents used to live is taking a beating. Pray the weather does not delay Clint coming in.

At this point I have not heard from Clint on his arrival time. I do know that he left his FOB. I will let everyone know when I hear from him.

Hope everyone is doing okay.

turkey update

About last week the turkeys began digging up the asparagus bed and immediately became turkey nongrata, so I have assigned Sherman to evict them, which he does with gusto. Now that is a sight to see. They head for the tree tops for a while then go somewhere else.
