Happy Birthday to Clint

I thought about staying up and typing your happy birthday wish between midnight and 12:01 to see if that counted as the 29th, but decided for the sake of those who have to spend the day with me tomorrow I'd better not. I hope you are finding some way to celebrate your birthday. You can be very thankful that you don't have to listen to us sign to you on your big day! How does it feel to be so old?! ;)

Trip

We're heading out to take care of the girls for a few days. Can't wait to play with them spoil them rotten.
Got to get away from here, it's to hot outside. Alway thought 0 to 60 was the speed of a car not the temp in NE.

Ghost town ranch

We went up to the ranch today on an expedition to dig up a couple more cedar trees for our windbreak here and to put up some bluebird birdhouse's. While doing that we spotted a shed deer antler and when I went to pick it up the matching antler was next to. Its unusual to find one let alone a matching pair. We did a little exploring, seen some other wildlife and shot the hell out of a 5 gal can with one of my cowboy rifles. Then came home and planted the trees. Had a fun day away from Kearney.

Stuck in Kansas

News from this week:
  • my sister (Lisa) found out she is having a girl, so that makes niece #7. I'm claiming the Hernandez boys as nephews so I can have more than one!
  • Leslie is the new weekend anchor on NTV - so all you Kearney-ites must tune in and cheer her on, I'm very proud of her! She is living in a crappy apartment behind KFC waiting for her husband to finish up basketball season in Houston so he can move to Kearney and find a place to live. SOOO glad to have her closer.
  • My mom has a busted shoulder, and will be having surgery on March 13th to repair it. I have no idea how that happened, considering she has been in bed recovering from back surgery. She is becoming an insurance nightmare with all the medical issues!
  • I spent my week cramming for a 3 hour essay Pathology exam. Now I'm trying to prepare for 3 exams this next week. 22 credits is starting to catch up with me... No more fun Saturday nights, now I'm stuck trying to memorize how many nipples male mice have (it's zero, if your ever in need of dinner conversation!) Yep, I actually have to pay to learn this stuff...

That's about it. Not too exciting, eh?

Clint

We're very relieved to hear that Clint is okay. Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone deployed now and especially those families who have lost loved ones. We can't wait to see you (Jen), the girls and Clint in April to give you big hugs!
Clint, take care and know our thoughts and prayers are with you!!

News about Clint

Just a quick note to let everyone know that Clints unit has suffered another 4 casualties. Clint is okay and so are the people in his company. We know nothing more right now, they are waiting for all the families to be notified. This information will be hitting the news soon so I wanted everyone to know that he is okay

Ice Water

After going to McDonalds to get my typical happy meal and diet Dr. Pepper I came back to my office and started eating. Once I was done eating I took off the lid to my drink to start eating the ice which is a very common thing for me to do. With one piece of ice left I got to the McDonalds article about the ice and toliet water on the internet........Boy did that ruin my lunch. Pretty sure I won't be eating the ice for awhile

Hello from Lincoln!

Hello everyone! We're very excited to join this exclusive club, thank you Jen for offering us the membership to the Mead blog! : ) Never thought we'd be "bloggers" either.
I had fun reading all the posts and catching up with everyone. We'll be excited to see Loren's newest rolling over tricks in April. I'm sure she'll be doing more fun things by that time too.
It's cold here too, on the eastern side of Nebraska. We're enjoying a weekend with no plans (something we haven't had in quite awhile). Christopher had Kindergarten preview this week and Loved it. He's ready to start now! I hope everyone is staying healthy and warm!
We miss all of you!!

Know anybody else I forgot to invite to Blog?

I emailed Sarah today to invite her to join onto the blog, if I have forgotten anyone else please just post it on the blog and I will send them an invitation to join our group.

Todays big news is Lauren has learned how to roll over in each direction and she has decided that passing gas is funny. She has produced so much gas in the last day that she could fuel a jet plane to figi and back.

Hope everyone had a good weekend

Talked to Clint Today

Clint and I had a chance to talk on the phone this morning and I reminded him about the blog. He is very excited to read each of your comments. He does not get much time on the computer and when he does it is very slow he says so he will not have time to write much.

It snowed here today and last night. Think we probably have a few inches, but not enough to really get concerned about.

Mead Family

Mead Family
Howdy to all. The truck sure growned when I started it tonight. Nothing like a little cold weather to make people look for thier cold weather gear. Little dog doesn't stay outside very long either.

cold?

Its so cold here this afternoon the birdbath (with a heater for the water) looked like a hot springs, with the steam rising from it.

I am happy to see it is working!

I am so happy to see that this is working out for everyone. Even if we all just check it once a week we can try to keep in better touch with each other. Especially Clint & the girls and I. We are so far away!

I still have not figured out all the buttons to push so I am playing with the website to figure it out. If someone figures out something good write about it so we can all learn.

On another note, it was 67 here on Thursday and today it is 32. Our bodies are freaking out! We are expecting snow this weekend. Hope everyone is well

old dog - new trick

Is anybody else cold out there? I found out there are some spots you don't want to click on these pages.

Yes Linds, it was chilly today

Jennifer great idea.....never thought I would be blogging! Thought computer hacker people only blogged, now I know. Actually I have been doing a messege board for classes that is basically the same thing. I have class tonight at 9. So I'll be sitting in front of my computer in a chat room for an hour or so. Fun, fun. Tonight is Logistics and then Sat mornings I have Finance. Hope everyone had a good day. Colder than all beat out here today. Clint how are things for you? Hard to believe you have #30 coming soon! Later all.......

Flipping cold!

Howdy all - Jennifer this was a great idea. The Mead's need all the help we can get with communication! Just finished a week of three tests, probably going to partake in some alcoholic beverages tonight to celebrate being done for a day :) Or I may just sleep...we'll see what happens first!
Hope everyone is having a good day. We think of you all often and you are in our prayers.
Love - Lindsay

Busy Month

Boy has it been a busy month for me and the girls. However, keeping busy makes the days turn into weeks and weeks into months in regards to Clint coming home. Clint is coming home sometime in the first two weeks of April. We are still trying to figure out when we will be in Nebraska. We know that we want to go Deep Sea Fishing but we are concerned about all the Spring Breakers in Florida during the time he is home. We are definatly not Spring Breakers anymore. Anyway, the girls are growing like weeds. Lauren is up to 14.5 pounds now. Jordyn is preparing to go to the Dentist for the first time ever so we will have to write about that when she goes. Hope everyone is doing well! Talk to you soon. Jennifer
